games people play

Since Halo 3 has hit the stores, I have been wondering, when was the last time I had fun playing games?

Fine, so there was my bout with DOTA, but that's competitive fun. It's not healthy, and sometimes I end up yelling at people more than enjoying the game altogether.

So was there ever a game which I enjoyed altogether?

And then one day, while at our campus ministry meeting, somebody reminded me of the best game I have ever played:

PaRappa the Rapper. All time favorite.

Now this is one of those posts that I'm not really sure who will appreciate, but look, it's my blog so I choose what's in it.

PaRappa the Rapper. Retarded paper-thin guy rapping to the most retarded songs ever written. Somehow, playing that game made me feel great about myself. For all you PaRappa fans out there, check this vid I found off YouTube:

Please holler at the board if you have played and fallen in love with PaRappa as I have, so I know I'm not alone in this. PaRappa made me feel that I can do anything, and it all started with that Stage 1 guy, Master Onion, teaching me to kick punch chop block pose turn duck and jump.

Everything I know about rhythm and beating, I learned from PaRappa. So at the very least, I should thank PaRappa because he gave me (even a bit) one of the most useful tools I had to utilize in choir, and that is beating time. (granted none of PaRappa's songs had triplets and stuff. that's not the point. Those I had to learn the hard way)

And perhaps that's why I have given up playing all these new games. Halo 3, so what? Once upon a time, I had PaRappa, and that was all I needed. I think I finished PaRappa about 8 times. this was 10 years ago, ladies and gentlemen.

Actually, this post is a glimpse of what goes through my mind when I can't concentrate on working on Financial Accounting. I daydream about random stuff.

I'M OUT!!!
