Merry Christmas!

Hey people! it's 1:30 AM right here in New York City!!! Ding Ding Ding! Merry Christmas!

And since it was Christmas Eve a couple of hours ago, after church I thought I should bring back the good old tradition and cook some stuff for old time's sake! It's been six months since I last cooked anything, ok?

so yes, here are the good old favorites from berty's cookbook!

gambas (I think Geoff, David and my juniors have tried this)
"Bicol Express" - pork belly in coconut milk
yes, most of you who have tasted (or rather, endured) my cooking before would have seen and tasted these all-time favorites of mine before. the chicken dish at the bottom was not cooked by me, but another Singaporean friend. The pork belly dish, to all who have tried that before, would remember that I use turmeric to spicen up stuff, and I liked to use some chilli padi to spice things up a notch. But I couldn't find both, so I used curry powder instead of turmeric, and settled for hot peppers (which was not hot at all) and dashed some Mexican Chilli into it. Not good. I was disappointed by it tonight. Lack of ingredients. And to think that I already went to Chinatown to rummage for my ingredients. On a lighter note, I did find Milo in Chinatown. mwhahaha. But anyways, so I spent Christmas Eve together with 3 other Singaporeans feasting on homecooked food and watching Forrest Gump (not Love Actually as planned by yours truly)

Even if it wasn't the first time I watched that movie, I still loved it.

and yes, it's Christmas! Merry Christmas to everyone!

It's really amazing how you can look back and count Christmases past to track down your age. perhaps some were spent carolling, some with family, some even alone. But through it all, one remains constant, and that is the celebrant is still the same, and year after year He never fails to amaze me. Happy Birthday my King.

One thing I got from church today: God created the heavens and the earth in 6 days. Think about that. Then when Jesus was on Earth, He said God is preparing a place for us. And think, it's been about 2000 years since that time! How wonderful that place should be! I'm hyped!

Merry Christmas again to one and all! Christmas will be spent picnicking at Central Park with some friends, so that should be something too! more pictures of course!

I'M OUT!!!
