making good music

Finally, today it all made sense.

Why the sirens have to be so noisy all the time, why drivers are obnoxiously honking all the time, why people have that can't-be-bothered smirk on their face all the time.

Because when it matters, when we all celebrate over the same thing, what used to be cacophonous becomes beautiful music.

When I rushed out of my apartment to celebrate on the streets, I started out clapping loudly. I ended up screaming my lungs out on the streets of New York.

And the noise drowned me out. The sirens, the horns, the screaming people sporting blue - all of them - made fantastic music together.

It may take another few years before New York emerges as a sports phenomenon yet again, but as I said, when the underdog wins, everybody turns and looks, and it's worth it to sit back and smile...

... and figure out that it was all worth it. Every single moment.

I'M OUT!!!
