54 days.
Yeah, this is a random post saying that I'm gonna be in this room for another 54 days.
Finally.
Well, since it's such a short time left, maybe it's time to show the world some stuff in my room:
So that's that.
I have yet to get rid of Mickey, as I'm still tracing where the fellow is coming from, but I already have a hunch, as I covered this opening in the bathroom yesterday and I did not encounter him. So I guess it's time to whip out the mouse trap.
Be careful dudes, some stuff I discovered in my research:
1.) Mice only need 1/4 inch of an opening to get through. Check under your doors, vents, etc. etc. On the other hand, rats, which are relatively bigger, need 1/2 inch. But look at your thumb. That's roughly and inch.
2.) They're nocturnal creatures, but can be spotted in daylight at times. They will rummage through your food, and they also like hiding in places where they can keep warm (like my roommate's pile of fermenting undies). Of course, the more it smells like sewage, the more they like it (reason the same as the previous), They are active at night especially on very cold nights.
3.) They are good vertical climbers, so don't think that because you're clinging on to your ceiling fan, he won't get you.
4.) Now, time for solutions. They hate things that block their sense of smell: Peppermint oil is the most convenient, friendly solution, because it will make your room smell like Mentos and still drive the critter away. Moth balls do work too, but my roommate doesn't like them. For a distinct Asian flavor, try curry powder. Apparently, they work as well. And it would give your room a... distinct... malay stall smell. (?)
5.) Lastly, my theory: They can be threatened. The other night, when I saw him peeping behind one of the cabinets, I stood up and gave him a COLD STARE (one that i have acquired through my time in JC. from you-know-where). The fellow looked away and immediately ran into the other room, the unoccupied one. If i only had an airgun or something.
Sorry about that, but I'm really into catching mice now.
Oh yes, if there's anybody out there who knows anybody who's renting a room for a month (about may 26 onwards), please tag or buzz me, ok? I already have some ideas, but I'm open for some options. No need to go out of the way, just listen listen, ok? Thanks!
Ok, I'm gonna be studying now. haven't done much for Spring Break homework.
I'M OUT!!!
