Day 4

Just had a chat with Geoff over Skype.. for about an hour? had a blast! Go get skype people! If you don't, I'll get overexposed to geoff, then maybe i'll start becoming like him.. and... and... gah, worse things... just go get skype and add me.

Anyways, how am I doing? great, I suppose. I think I'm getting quite good at this. Killing nostalgia. Maybe I should write a book about it. But of course, there will be moments throughout the day when you remember certain people who have touched your life: maybe througha simple message, a nice photograph, or a phone call... I miss all of you there!

Today, my dad got me to wake up at 6. Too smart, that guy. He bought Jollibee (fast food restaurant chain... popular here, more popular than Mcdonalds, KFC, and Burger King COMBINED here in Manila.) breakfast. So when I smelled the aroma of a Jollibee breakfast (6 months is quite a long while...), I immediately jumped out of bed and rushed down for breakfast. Good job, dad.

Also, it should be noted that I had steamed crabs for lunch. I had one only. Health-conscious haha but it was good as usual. Why is it so significant? Because exactly one week ago, I was sitting in Jumbo restaurant at East Coast gorging on what is the most glorious serving of chilli crabs with a most fabulous group of friends. I will miss that very much. When I come back, we will definitely have chilli crabs again. I promise.

On the topic of food... in an effort to save wildlife, Houston Rockets center Yao Ming has pledged to stop eating shark's fin soup... does that make him less Chinese? Imagine, the world's most popular Chinaman discrediting what could be one of the best soups known to mankind. Disaster... (isn't it ironic that Yao Ming once played for the Shanghai Sharks before making it big in the NBA?)

Anyways, started reading a whole bunch of books. Started listening to The Beatles again. Family Guy is on show every once in a while. I'm gonna stay over at my friend's place this weekend! Got a whole list of things to do now! Amazing.

Oh, and I rediscovered the beauty of one Filipino characteristic that the Spaniards left with us some 100 years ago: siesta. Yep, taking afternoon naps. Glorious. Full stomach, hot blazing sun, nobody to talk to, nice bed... aaAAAhhhHH... and it's good too, that way i can keep up my lifestyle of sleeping very late (1-2 am), wake up at my dad's expected time (6am...), and get more sleep in the afternoon to get myself pumped up for the rest of the day.

Sweet!
