in case you're wondering

just in case you're wondering where i get all my useless ramblings from, i get to think everyday during my 15-20 minute walk from school to dorm. and today i could not help but laugh at the sheer randomness of what i began to reminisce.

if you know me REALLY REALLY well, i'm actually the kind of guy who sings aloud while walking or doing nothing, which is kind of unorthodox in sunny Singapore. But if you come to New York, you get crazy ass people playing drums on the air, next to somebody banging their heads emphatically to the music in their ipods. and of course, NYU being a hub for the artistic, you get people who tiptoe around in their rooms (my roommate) and people who sing belt out enormous tunes as they walk around. so in that aspect, i fit in.

well, today the first song that went into my head was "Love in the First Degree" by Bananarama.

and of course, I was reminded of the retarded things Enoch and I did with that song.

Then, I started singing "A House is not A Home", which brought me back to spastic days of me and David emotionally belting out ooohs and aaahs to each line.

Along those lines, I tried to think of a song that reminded me of Geoff.

Alas, there was none. But I was reminded of his uber-emotional singing face and, of course, the emphatic whacking of the HR keyboards. ok, maybe "That Lonesome Road" will work, but that song has been prostituted so much that I don't know if it's exclusive anymore. (yes, I used that word.)

There's "I'll Be" for a very special couple out there, and I remembered Chloe telling me once LONG LONG LONG ago that she liked "Goodbye to Love" by The Carpenters, which I adore a lot as well, especially when I'm feeling a bit down. But of course, we shouldn't feed our self-pity, ok?

And then there's Rachael insisting me to sing that darned Filipino song that introduced me to ACJC as the fat guy who can sing, when I sang that with Gina. But later brought bad memories as it was also that day that i was introduced as the fat guy whose voice cracked on stage.

There's the whole range of Elton John songs that me and Daniel will sing to, "Top of the World" and "If You Leave Me Now" which seems to be the most requested songs from my repertoire with Kopi Susu, whom I miss a lot too. Yes, Putra can be a pain at times, but the head-banging Indon has his purposes too.

And then there's the endless Aqua marathons that me and my ex-roommate in Singapore will have. Yes, all of you earthlings, admit now that you have been addicted to at least one Aqua song. Barbie Girl? Candyman? and CBS's personal favorite: Dr. Jones. (wake up now!!!)

Then of course there's Mike and Bobo, who brought an immense array into my repertoire. Bobo forcibly taught me Jay Chou and Andy Lau, which did not succeed, of course. Mike and I had an affinity for anything '80s. I started laughing when we would start swinging and bopping our heads to "Amazing" by George Michael in the midst of lecture, and of course our anthem "I Want to Break Free" by Queen whenever lectures become a drag.

There's a whole bunch more like Lea Salonga, Billy Gilman, and them sappy songs (a category of its own due to its intense volume, a.k.a. If Ever You're in My Arms Again, It Might Be You, etc.) that brings back memories as well, only more intense and emotional, and for the sake of avoiding cheesiness, I will avoid.

Yes, I miss all of you people. Can't wait to be home.

In other stories, my roommate just got home and is walking around (gulp) dressed skimpily.

I gotta save my eyes from being defiled.

I will post photos when the rains stop. The whole place looks disgustingly soaked now.

I'M OUT!!!
