Thanksgiving break happenings.
here are some stuff from the recent Thanksgiving break:
Well, firstly, got to know and meet some people (old and new), and went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Saw celebs like Gloria Estefan, Ciara, Diana DeGarmo, Hall & Oates, etc etc.
so as you can see, some of the floats that appeared included spongebob, garfield, grover, ronald mcdonald, the energizer bunny, m&m's, and my personal favorite, PIKACHU. he was like the coolest of them all. his cheeks were lighting up!
anyways, it was a rainy day and i just have to applaud all those who still performed the parade under extreme weather. Hats off, people. I was touched by the gesture.
The other photos are some very very rare shots of me and my friends with whom I spent my Thanksgiving with. Thanks to them, (Darlyn and Kristel especially... whoa they can really shop... my knees are killing me now.), I didn't spend Thanksgiving alone, but we shopped shopped and ate and ate and of course there was turkey, which I ate little of since I'm still on a strict diet. Next time they come over I will buy knee and ankle pads first.
Then the next day we had a long day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is a really really marvelous place. Next time I'll come back and waste my entire day there, I promise.
These are some of the nicer ones I got to take. My favorites are the one on the upper left with two people and the one below with the big field of hay. Their interpretations are very simple but very very meaningful. You guys can try to guess, as usual, what they mean, and I will give you a special mention in my next entry (the 100th!!!) Over there is a bust of Julius Caesar as well, a terracota with Aeneas carrying Anchises on his back (for Virgilian fanatics like me), One of Ugolino and his sons (a character from Dante's Inferno... marble sculpture heavily blocked... Picasa isn't that nice with these), and one on The Last Judgment.
Well, that kind of wraps up my seemingly long break. tomorrow my roommates come back and i'm back to my old lifestyle...
Enoch Lin!!! please contact me as soon as you can! I'm trying to plan my way there! I realized that if I take a bus there it would take around 3 days so I have decided to not be so cheapskate and perhaps take a flight. lots of uncertainty up to this point, but i'm trying my best, ok?
My winter break is already officially fully booked. I have people to entertain or places to visit all the way from my last exam to the first day of the Spring Semester.
What do you know? It's November 26th already! 3 months since I came here, almost 4 months since I've left Singapore! Happy birhtday Christian Bernard Santoso.
I'm thinking of what theme my 100th post should be. to those who tag I promise that you will not be forgotten in my next entry as much as possible.
Ok, I'm really really tired now. signing off...
I'M OUT!!!
